10347 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What reports, briefings, memos, aides-memoire, notes or written advice, if any, has she received on how Structured Literacy will impact Pasifika students, listed by agency, title and date received?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have not received any specific advice from the Ministry of Education on this matter. However, I note that the evidence and feedback from principals and teachers who have implemented this approach shows that Structured Literacy is particularly effective for accelerating the progress and achievement for some of the students that the education system most often leaves behind, including Māori and Pasifika students. I refer the member to examples that I have provided in the House of this.
