10343 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What plans, if any, does she have to ensure that students currently in the Reading Recovery Programme are prepared for the disestablishment of the Reading Recovery Programme and the introduction of Structured Literacy?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Ministry of Education (the Ministry) will be redirecting funding from Reading Recovery and Early Literacy Support to targeted supports that reflect structured approaches to teaching literacy. The Ministry is working on the design of these supports for 2025, and will be communicating and engaging with the Education sector as these are developed.
