Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Work in partnership with responsible authorities to standardise professional and regulatory requirements across Te Whatu Ora, Te Aka Whai Ora and ACC to enable registered and unregistered staff to have training and experience pathways to advanced roles and improved interdisciplinary working across urban and rural health services’ under section 1.2 ‘Strengthening workforce whānau’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October - December 2023 quarter, scoping continued across this programme, with a focus on identifying existing successful programmes. I am further advised that work continues with unions, providers, and responsible authorities on required scope changes, and with hospitals / commissioners on contract changes, to effect new pathways, and to develop training/education approaches as required. I also refer the Member to the response to Written Parliamentary Questions 2123 (2024) and 3334 (2024).
