10265 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: Why has the Minister declined to release the briefing documents LG20255935 and LG20256892 in response to OIA request OIA024-26, and when does the Minister expect those documents to be publicly released?

Hon Simon Watts: The reasons for withholding was under 9(2)(f)(iv) of the OIA, as set out in my response to OIA024-26. The two briefings are part of a pack of material about electoral reform considerations taken in this term of Parliament. The Department of Internal Affairs will make the pack available on its website www.dia.govt.nz/Proactive-Releases#LG in due course.
