10244 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: How many schools, if any, got their lunches provided to them by Libelle; and how many of these schools, if any received lunches as ordered and on time on March 11th 2025?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that Libelle was providing lunches direct to 14 contributing primary schools and two specialist schools. Libelle is also a sub-contractor of the School Lunch Collective with Central Production Kitchens around the country, which were heating and delivering meals daily to 144 schools. I am further advised by the Ministry that Compass Group NZ has provided assurance that any disruption will be minimised and the liquidation process will not materially impact on the provision of school lunches to the students who depend on them. Compass Group NZ has shown their commitment to the School Lunch Programme and the students that benefit from a meal every school day by stepping up to assume responsibility of Libelle’s operation and supporting their staff through this transition. On the 11 March 2025, the School Lunch Collective reported 99.96% of their deliveries were on time.
