10224 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Corrections: What new artificial intelligence or machine learning systems, tools, or platforms, if any, have been commissioned, contracted, or deployed by any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, listed by system name, supplier, purpose, contract value, and date of commissioning?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 and the date of your request, Corrections has been using CoPilot Chat which is part of the standards Microsoft M365 licence at no cost to Corrections.
I am further advised that Corrections has undertaken a small pilot with 30 staff since March 2025 for the premium version of CoPilot. The cost for each of the 30 licences is at the standard government rate for Microsoft enterprise licensing, totalling $40,042.80.
