10169 (2025). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Land Information: Is it his intent that projects like the Santana Gold mine be considered a private project and therefore not able to use expedited processes under the proposed amendments to the Public Works Act?

Hon Chris Penk: The accelerated land acquisition process does not apply to private projects. The mining projects in Schedule 2 of the Fast-track Approvals Act are not public works. Land cannot be acquired under the Public Works Act for these projects. The accelerated land acquisition process will not change this.
