Camilla Belich to the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality: What communications, public relations, or reputation management contracts, if any, have been entered into by any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, listed by department or entity, supplier, contract value, contract start date, and purpose?
Hon Louise Upston: As Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, I have no responsibility for any government departments or Ministries. With regard to Crown entities under the Tourism and Hospitality portfolio, I am advised for Tourism New Zealand is as follows. Tourism New Zealand is the government agency responsible for marketing New Zealand as a visitor destination. Public relations spend is a significant portion of their budget. Details can be found in Tourism New Zealand’s Annual Reports: https://www.tourismnewzealand.com/about-us/publications/. Tourism New Zealand engages a company to undertake media monitoring. Company names, contract start and end dates and contract value are commercially sensitive. Tourism New Zealand doesn’t have any contracts for reputation management.
