10002 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What staff engagement, morale, or culture surveys, if any, have been conducted by any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, listed by department or entity, date conducted, the organisation that administered the survey if external, and the overall engagement or satisfaction score reported?
Hon Brooke van Velden: Department of Internal Affairs: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that a staff feedback survey was conducted in 2024 and a pulse survey in 2025. No engagement or satisfaction score was reported for either survey. The Classification Office: The Classification has not undertaken staff engagement, morale or culture surveys since 27 November 2023. As part of the development of our updated Wellbeing framework, we conducted an inhouse Wellbeing Policies and Initiatives Survey. This survey did not result in an overall engagement or satisfaction score but rather helped identify wellbeing initiatives that were considered valuable by staff members. Lotto NZ: Lotto NZ conducts an ongoing pulse survey using the external provider Workleap – Officevibe. This survey sends 10 questions to all employees on a fortnightly basis and provides real time engagement scores across multiple metrics. The overall employee engagement scores for Lotto NZ at the end of the past two financial years are in the table attached. Fire and Emergency New Zealand: I am advised that Fire and Emergency New Zealand has conducted the following staff engagement, morale or culture surveys (satisfaction score can be found in the attached table): • The People Experience ‘YourSay’ survey was offered to all Fire and Emergency New Zealand employees and volunteers and were administered by Ipsos and Qualtrics our external survey partners.
