9891 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October - December 2023) to ‘Develop a health data sharing mediation service’ under ‘Horizon Two’ of the Data and Information Strategy for Health and Disability: Roadmap 2021-2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the October - December 2023 quarter, the Data Governance Group of Health NZ, the Ministry of Health and Te Aka Whai Ora provided some of the functions of a health data sharing mediation service. In addition, an updated Information Release Policy was developed for National Collections data to document the framework used for the sharing of this data. A policy for sharing data with commercial agencies was developed, and is currently out for consultation.
