9890 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Further to WPQ 5644, what progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October - December 2023) on health promotion work programmes concerning 'first 1,000 days'?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the October - December 2023 quarter, the health promotion work programme concerning 'first 1,000 days' progressed several initiatives. These included: Continuing support for 12 community providers/partners on the First 1,000 days community innovation grant. Participating in a collective approach to building and sharing practice-based evidence across the health system as part of the Early Years cross-government learning platform. Developing a series of videos to communicate the essence of Kahu Taurima. Supporting a Kahu Taurima-led project reviewing existing maternity campaigns, and providing advice on comprehensive approaches to health promotion in the early years. Supporting Kahu Taurima Services for all workstreams; especially the Learning System workstream.
