Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the October - December 2023 quarter, the health promotion work programme concerning mental health progressed several initiatives. These included: A maternal wellbeing co-funding partnership with the Tindall Foundation to supporting two projects which link into the cross-government Early Years Learning Platform (First 1000 Days). Procuring Pasifika experiences of wellbeing and distress, specifically the stigma and discrimination faced by Pacific communities. An Infant and Maternal Mental Health stocktake. A refresh and relaunch of the Depression.org.nz website, with support from lived experience, clinical and cultural advisors. Development of a draft Lived Experience Community Insights Co-Design Report. Finalising summer studentships for Māori mental health discrimination and prejudice projects. Hosting the second Te Aratiatia ki te Hauora symposia with the Growing Up in New Zealand research team. Finalising the report 'Whaiora, Whaitangata, Whaimana: profiling relationship between mental health, discrimination, and wellbeing'. Began the Awanuiārangi certificate in Māori mental health research Drafting a mental health, wellbeing, prejudice and discrimination manuscript. Delivery of the 2022-23 Evaluation Report of Te Wero Hau to Nōku te Ao partners and advisory groups. Drafting of an outcomes framework to analyse service delivery and service outcomes against the Nōku te Ao Strategy. Delivery of training programmes on mental health stigma, discrimination, and exclusion utilising kaupapa Māori frameworks.
