9886 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Further to WPQ 5644, what progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October - December 2023) on health promotion work programmes concerning 'Minimising gambling harm'?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the October - December 2023 quarter the health promotion work programme concerning gambling harm progressed several initiatives. These included: Working with the Department of Internal Affairs to update Signs of Gambling Harm Gamble Host resources to align with new harm minimisation regulations. Resources were made available to Class 4 sector in early December. Delivery of Safer Gambling Aotearoa Community Grant Fund initiatives across the country. Completion of a literature review to inform the next phase of the Destigmatisation initiative project. Filming of stigma and discrimination content to use on social media channels as part of a campaign. The Nan's song minimising gambling harm campaign videos were featured from 6 November to 22 December.
