9773 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Agriculture: Regarding reply 6782, what number of public servants, if any, are no longer employed with MPI to achieve a 7.5% cost-saving from 27 November 2023, compared to the week of Monday 29 April?

Hon Todd McClay: As part of the Budget 2024/25 programme, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) was asked by the Government to find savings of 7.5 percent per annum. These savings will take effect from the financial year starting 1 July 2024. MPI has completed consultation with staff on change proposals and feedback is being taken into account in determining final decisions. No final decisions have been made.
