9712 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Police: What redundancy or restructuring costs, if any, have been incurred by any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, listed by department or entity, the number of positions disestablished, and the total cost of redundancy payments?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that since 27 November 2023, Police has paid out $10,973,895 in redundancy payments, including in cases of voluntary redundancy. This represents 180 positions. Due to an ongoing overhaul in the database of funded Police positions, a verified total number of disestablished positions since this date is not currently available. The Serious Fraud Office (SFO), has initiated one change process since 27 November 2023, which concluded on 1 October 2024 and resulted in 11 roles being disestablished and four permanent staff being made redundant. The SFO did not pay any redundancy compensation to staff, but did provide outplacement support to people made redundant, the total cost of which was $6,450.
