9689 (2024). Hon Marama Davidson to the Minister of Conservation: What advice, if any, has the Minister received from officials about whether the Fast-track Approvals Bill could impact the Department of Conservation's Tiriti and Settlement obligations?

Hon Tama Potaka: I have received advice from the Department of Conservation concerning the Bill and the Department’s Tiriti and Settlement obligations, though impacts have not been able to be quantified. I’m aware that pre-introduction advice provided to Ministers regarding the fast-track approvals bill is to be proactively release by the Minister for RMA Reform, and I judge it not to be in the public interest to provide this in advance.
