9673 (2024). Hon Peeni Henare to the Associate Minister of Health: As at 2 May, 2024, how frequently does the Minister receive updates on Māori vaping statistics?

Hon Casey Costello: Vaping statistics are gathered through the New Zealand Health Survey, and youth vaping statistics are gathered through the ASH Year 10 Survey, both of which are published annually late in the year. I expect to receive results from this year’s survey in December. In addition, at my most recent meeting with officials, I asked if there were any opportunities for more regular reporting, particularly for those groups with the highest vaping prevalence.
