9670 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister for Children: How many times did Oranga Tamariki, and agencies to which it sub-contracts, refer clients to subsidiaries of Destiny Church including Man Up and Legacy, in the 2021-22 financial year?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that there were two referrals to services provided by Destiny Church over the 2021-22 financial year, totalling $610. The first reflected a decision made at a Family Group Conference for participation in a parenting programme, and the second was for young people to attend a Youth Camp. I am further advised Oranga Tamariki had no contracts with Destiny Church or its subsidiaries Man Up or Legacy, and that no payments were made to Man Up or Legacy in the 2021-22 financial year. I am also advised Oranga Tamariki does not hold a centralised record of referrals made by agencies from which Oranga Tamariki procure services.
