9648 (2024). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: Has Matt Doocey contacted her or her office to discuss the future of the Kaiwhakaoranga service and if so when on which dates?

Hon Louise Upston: Yes. The previous Government provided time limited funding until 30 June 2024 for the Kaiwhakaoranga service. The Kaiwhakaoranga Service provided a dedicated opt-in case management service for the affected community to facilitate access to the support they needed across various government and non-government organizations. For those who are Ministry of Social Development (MSD) clients they will still be able to access support through MSD's frontline services after 1 July. Support will also continue to be provided through the core services from a range of other government agencies and other community providers. Over the last five years, MSD have seen how most families have become more confident to manage new or existing issues and are able to independently deal with government agencies and self-source the support they need.
