9598 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Children: What international travel, if any, has been undertaken by the Minister or any member of the Minister's office since 27 November 2023, listed by destination, purpose, dates of travel, and total cost including flights, accommodation, and per diems?

Hon Karen Chhour: As Minister, I have undertaken international travel on one occasion since 27 November 2023. The destination was Australia and the purpose was to attend the 3rd National Family Safety Summit as keynote speaker and hold bilateral meetings with State and Federal portfolio-aligned Ministerial colleagues, and key sector leaders and experts in specific policy interest areas. The dates of travel were 17 to 28 February 2026 inclusive. The total costs will soon be publicly available on the Department of Internal Affairs’ website at www.dia.govt.nz/Ministers-expense-releases, and therefore per Speakers’ Ruling 199-6 it is not in the public interest to divert staff resources and time to specifically collate the information to answer the Member’s question.
