9590 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Economic Growth: How much, if anything, did the Minister's departments, if any, spend on purchasing goods or services from Starlink in the 2023 calendar year?

Hon Nicola Willis: Nil. However, MBIE did have a $2,260 excluding GST expenditure on Starlink services, (purchased from a third-party retailer) immediately after Cyclone Gabrielle. This was for communications coverage for the regional office and local communities, so that essential services could be accessed and co-ordinated.
