9587 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: What impact, if any, will the disestablishment of the 11 jobs at the Department of Internal Affairs have on the Police's response to online harm towards children?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Police works closely with the New Zealand Customs Service and the Department of Internal Affairs to prevent and investigate online child sexual exploitation. The agencies will continue to work together domestically and internationally to reduce and prevent the online sexual exploitation of children. Prioritisation will continue to identify victims and ensure their safety while making offenders accountable for their actions.
