9584 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage
Written Question
Published date: 01 Apr 2026
9584 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: What contractor or consultant engagements, if any, are currently active across any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible, where the individual contractor or consultant is being paid at a rate exceeding $200 per hour, listed by department or entity, role or engagement description, daily or hourly rate, and contract start date?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the Ministry for Culture and Heritage report on the number of contractors and consultants in 2025/26 and the estimated total cost as part of the Estimates and Annual Review Select Committee examinations. This information is held within the Supplementary Estimates Questionnaire for the 2025/26 Estimates Examination. I refer the Member to question 49 on page 23: https://www3.parliament.nz/resource/en-NZ/54SCSSC_EVI_75b8cdf3-1828-49cd-cdc8-08dd9cbad1c0_SSC20932/b59e4c3bfaab6b9d0a27787e0711c6f67c85fa9a
Appendix 1 referred to in question 49 is on the parliament.nz website: https://www3.parliament.nz/resource/en-NZ/54SCSSC_EVI_75b8cdf3-1828-49cd-cdc8-08dd9cbad1c0_SSC20933/5820a95e0687457dc8432ed7addcce60d2281067
As per Speaker’s Ruling 199/6, I do not consider it to be in the public interest to undertake an exercise to identify and collate the additional material requested (the requested information for the entities I am responsible for, currently active contracts in excess of $200 per hour, role or engagement description, daily or hourly rate, and contract start date), as it will require a significant diversion of resource. The Member may wish to consider asking a more specific question.
