9560 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Will the Minister ensure comprehension checks alongside the phonic checks she announced as part of the structured litieracy announcement; if not, why not?

Hon Erica Stanford: The phonics checks will be part of a suite of assessment tools used by teachers for students in Years 1 to 8. Teachers will receive a range of supporting materials and advice on the use of assessment, including reading comprehension, to help inform teaching and learning.
