9531 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for the Environment: Does the Ministry for the Environment keep data on the volume of consented water takes for golf courses?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I am advised the Ministry for the Environment does not keep data on the volume of consented water takes for golf courses. Local authorities keep data on the volume of consented water takes for specific uses. The Ministry for the Environment collects information from local authorities on their implementation of the RMA through the National monitoring system ( https://environment.govt.nz/what-government-is-doing/areas-of-work/rma/national-monitoring-system/ ). This includes some data on resource consents, but not the volume of takes for specific uses.
