9519 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister for Resources: What is the period of time it takes for the opening of a new coal mine and the coal from that mine going to market?

Hon Shane Jones: The time it takes from a mine opening to being able to send its first coal to market is very dependent on the design of the proposed mine. In particular the amount of development works required and overburden required to be moved.
