9450 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: What technology or software systems, if any, used by any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible have been identified as end-of-life, unsupported, or requiring urgent replacement since 27 November 2023, listed by department or entity, system name, purpose, and estimated replacement cost?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was a departmental agency hosted by DPMC until 25 September 2025. The Cyclone Recovery Chief Executive was a functional Chief Executive appointed under the Public Service Act 2020 in March 2023 and disestablished with effect from 1 July 2025. DPMC’s information technology functions are maintained by the Central Agencies Shared Services (CASS) which is part of the Treasury. CASS manage its technology environment through structured asset management plans that set clear replacement cycles and use a risk based approach to prioritise upgrades, which means most equipment and software is refreshed on schedule while some lower risk assets may run slightly beyond their planned lifecycle when it’s operationally prudent to do so. I am advised there were no technology or software systems that have been identified as end-of-life, unsupported, or requiring urgent replacement since 27 November 2023.
