Camilla Belich to the Minister for Land Information: What legal proceedings, if any, are currently being defended by any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible where the total claimed or estimated liability exceeds $1 million, listed by department or entity, the nature of the proceedings, the approximate value of the claim, and the current status?

Hon Chris Penk: Casata Limited v Minister for Land Information: claim totalling approximately $2.1 million resulting from acquisition of land under the Public Works Act 1981 on behalf of the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) for Dowse to Petone SH2 upgrade. Any financial liability is with NZTA. Currently at filing submissions stage.
