9344 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What funding, if any, has been distributed by any department or entity for which the Minister is responsible to any entity in which a current member of the governing parties' boards, officers, or staff hold a governance or paid role since 27 November 2023, listed by recipient entity, amount, purpose, date, and the name of the connection?
Rt Hon Winston Peters: I am advised that, for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is it not possible to provide a comprehensive answer to this question within the timeframe for answers to Written Questions. Since November 2023, the following funding has been distributed by the Asia New Zealand Foundation: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) received NZ$10,371 in the 2023/24 financial year and NZ$6,629 in the 2024/25 financial year as reimbursement for hosting events in Asia on behalf of the Asia New Zealand Foundation (relating to prior year activity). The Chief Executive of MFAT holds a governance role as an ex-officio board member of the Asia New Zealand Foundation. The Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Trust received NZ$34,500 (plus GST) in February 2024 for the Auckland Lantern Festival. A board member of the Asia New Zealand Foundation holds a governance role in the recipient entity. Since November 2023, the following funding has been distributed by Antarctica New Zealand: University of Canterbury received NZ$246,423 between 27 November 2023 and 28 February 2026 for; research grants, SBR Environmental Monitoring, and training and development. A Board Member and Committee Chair holds a role in the recipient entity.
