9337 (2024). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What advice, if any, has the Minister received about reducing delays within the New Zealand Passport system?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I have been advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that reducing passport processing times is its number one delivery priority. I am now receiving daily updates and weekly reporting on progress to address the delays. I am advised that the number of passports processed each week is increasing and all correctly completed urgent passports are processed within 3 working days, meeting current standards set for delivery.
