9330 (2024). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What evidence, if any, has the Minister received to suggest that the job cuts at the Department of Internal Affairs will meet the "required…savings of 6.5 percent"?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am confident that the Department of Internal Affairs has identified initiatives that will achieve the required baseline reduction. I am advised that decisions on proposed organisational changes are the responsibility of the relevant chief executive. Furthermore, I am advised that these decisions are still to be finalised and are subject to staff consultation. These decisions will be finalised after final Cabinet decisions on Budget 2024.
