9326 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: What work, if any, is the minister undertaking to protect New Zealanders from on-line scams?

Hon Andrew Bayly: Earlier this year I published an open letter to the banking industry, asking them to take immediate and concerted action to enhance their processes and protections to better safeguard New Zealanders from scams and fraud. I am monitoring the banking sector’s progress. I have also been discussing this with my counterpart Minsters in Australia.
