9248 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Has government investment in Kaupapa Māori mental health and addiction services increased since October 2023; if so, by how much, and how has this been allocated?
Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand's Hauora Māori Services directorate received additional funding of $1,659,187.84 in FY2024/25 for Kaupapa Māori mental health and addiction services for acute crisis respite support, and to help meet cost pressures across services. I am further advised that this excludes demand-driven services where a unit price increase has been applied in FY2024/25. Due to the nature of the invoice-based expenditure, the total funding associated with this uplift is not able to be confirmed until the conclusion of the financial year.
