9217 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What, if anything, is the revised consultation timeframe for the draft English year 7-13 curriculum?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that the Ministry of Education will have the Year 7-13 English learning area ready for sector consultation at the end of March 2025. Consultation on the draft English learning area for Year 7-13 will close in mid-June 2025. This amended end date reflects the delayed release of the English Year 7-13 learning area for consultation, giving the sector adequate time to feedback on draft materials. The Ministry is confident this revised timeline allows for enough time to finalise the learning area for sector use and planning ahead of implementation from the beginning of 2026.
