9194 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: What percentage of New Zealand's workforce is from the construction and building sector for the year ending February 2025 compared with the year ending February 2024?

Hon Chris Penk: This data is collected on a quarterly basis through the Household Labour Force survey, and so cannot be isolated for a year ending February. For the year ending December 2024, 10.2% of New Zealand's workforce were in the construction and building sector (see View table - Infoshare - Statistics New Zealand). Data for the March 2025 quarter will be released in May 2025.
