9179 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: What policy, legislation or other actions, if any, is the Minister considering in 2025 regarding fire safety in the building and construction portfolio?

Hon Chris Penk: Following the full review of the fire safety provisions in the Building Code, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment is currently analysing submissions from last year’s public consultation, and I expect to receive a summary of those submissions soon. This year the next phase of the review will look at options for addressing the issues identified to achieve the best outcomes for New Zealand.
