9175 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Has Health NZ run a scheme to support paid placements for students studying to be anaesthetic technicians at any time since 2022 and if so how was the scheme administered?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. I am advised that Health New Zealand has never funded such placements. However, in 2024, under our Government, Health New Zealand supported perioperative students to take part in clinical placements.
