Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Regional Development: What measures, if any, have been implemented to ensure that companies previously declined consents by the courts or the EPA - including Trans-Tasman Resources Ltd - are not using the $80 million fund as a back-door pathway to re-enter the approvals process?

Hon Shane Jones: The Regional Infrastructure Fund (RIF) application process does not affect decisions of the courts or the Environmental Protection Authority. All RIF projects must demonstrate a credible pathway to obtaining required consents.
