9024 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many Fire and Emergency New Zealand call outs were unpaid volunteer firefighters required to respond to as a result of ongoing strike action, if any?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that cumulatively, NZPFU members have participated in 19 hours of full withdrawal of labour. In total, 161 volunteer appliances have been dispatched in areas impacted by the strike (i.e. where paid firefighters would respond in normal circumstances).
