8979 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, has the Minister taken to prioritise the full operationalisation of the Tōtara Haumaru facility at North Shore hospital, by date and action title?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I often receive updates on progress during weekly officials’ meetings and through the Health New Zealand Weekly Report. I have made my expectations clear that this work is completed in a timely fashion. The advice I have received is that detailed planning and clinical commissioning of the building is well underway and that a staged approach will be taken to operationalising the facility in a way that sensibly aligns with hospital and specialist services capacity, and demand forecasts and requirements.
