8956 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: How many New Zealand residential houses, if any, are equipped with solar power roofs or panels that can provide some or all of the house's residential power needs?

Hon Chris Penk: It is not possible to calculate an exact number, however, information from the Electricity Authority indicates that 64,135 residential installation control point (ICP) numbers are equipped with some form of solar energy generation.
