8948 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Regulation: What quantitative data, if any, was used to inform departmental advice on the Regulatory Standards Bill?

Hon David Seymour: Officials advise that the Ministry for Regulation is in the process of finalising a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) on the proposed Regulatory Standards Bill, which will contain any data used to inform departmental advice. The interim RIS is available on the Ministry’s website here (https://www.regulation.govt.nz/assets/RIS-Documents/Interim-Regulatory-Impact-Statement-Legislating-to-improve-transparency-of-the-quality-of-regulation-v2.pdf). The final RIS will be published once it has been considered by Cabinet.
