8941 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: How much funding, if any, has been cut or reallocated from the National Wilding Conifer Control Programme since November 27, 2023?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised that there have been no budget cuts to the National Wilding Conifer Control Programme (the Programme) since 27 November 2023. Budget 2020 allocated $100 million over four years to the National Wilding Conifer Control Programme, through the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund (as part of the Jobs for Nature initiative) plus outyears baseline funding of $10 million per annum from 2024/25. This funding is summarised in the table below. For the 2023/24 financial year, an additional $7 million was allocated to the Programme through the Department of Conservation, from the International Visitor Levy.
