8940 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: Does the Minister consider the National Wilding Conifer Control Programme a front line service?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The National Wilding Conifer Control Programme (the Programme) is a long-term pest management programme, working to deliver the aims of the National Wilding Conifer Management Strategy 2015 – 2030. The Programme provides national funding and ensures that all aspects of wilding conifer management, including policy, research, education, and control work undertaken by agencies and community groups is prioritised and coordinated. The Programme has baseline funding of $10 million per year from 2024/25 and other partners will also need to continue to contribute resources to the collective effort to protect the landscapes they care about.
