8915 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Finance: How many (if any) ex-gratia payments has EQC made in the past 12 months, other than in respect of the "on sold" programme?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that the Earthquake Commission Toka Tū Ake has made 282 payments to settle disputes in the past 12 months. These payments are made to settle potential liability, reimburse costs and fees, temporary accommodation, and various other matters that EQC pays from time to time. I am advised that this figure includes payments for temporary accommodation and reimbursement of other costs and fees related to the Crown on-sold programme that were not met by the programme.
