8906 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Finance: As of 1 April 2024 how many Toka Tū Ake EQC claims made in respect of the January 2023 severe weather event which hit the upper North Island remain open; how many of those are land claims?
Hon David Seymour: I am adsvised that as at the close of business 31 March 2024, 80 percent of claims for the Auckland Anniversary severe weather event had been settled, with 923 remaining claims from a total of 4,548 received. I am advised that some of these claims have been recently lodged and homeowners have two years from the date of the event to do so. 897 of the remaining claims are claims involving damaged land.
