8891 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Energy: Does he agree with Simplicity CEO Sam Stubbs who said of Datagrid “if they want to consume 6% of our electricity, they should build the renewable energy”?

Hon Simon Watts: I am strongly supportive of the growth of renewable energy, regardless of who builds it. While I do not have responsibility for the datagrid project, I am encouraged by the growth in New Zealand that will stimulate renewable energy development.
