8879 (2026). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Associate Minister for Energy: Which iwi, hapū, or Māori organisations have been engaged in the development of the National Fuel Plan and wider fuel-crisis response planning, if none, why not, and when will the Government undertake meaningful engagement with Māori communities?

Hon Shane Jones: The 2024 updated National Fuel Plan was developed over 12 months in collaboration between MBIE, NEMA, fuel companies, industry stakeholders, government agencies, local government and CDEM Groups. It was published in April 2024. Engagement is currently underway regarding wider fuel response planning.
