8868 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Vocational Education: What current restructuring at the Tertiary Education Commission, if any, will impact upon roles, if any, that guide disability policy and the Commission's Disability Action Plans?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) works with several organisations and individuals across the disabilities sector. While two roles from within their Ōritetanga Learner Success team that work with the disabilities sector have been disestablished, they are committed to achieving better outcomes for all learners, including disabled and neurodiverse learners. The work undertaken by the Ōritetanga Learner Success team has ensured that the foundations needed to prioritise disabled learners now exist within the TEC. It has always been their intention to maintain and further embed this work across the TEC’s functions, so that it is the responsibility of the whole organisation.
