8866 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises: How many NZ Post service counters at shared retail sites have been closed, or are scheduled for closure, as part of NZ Post's current retail network restructuring, and what is the total number of sites that have been closed since 2020?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that there are different reasons why a Post Shop may close. This may be because of a decision by NZ Post’s agency partner to close their business, or to no longer offer postal services. In other situations, it will be due to a decision by NZ Post to make changes to their retail network. I am advised it is not possible, within the timeframe required, to provide a breakdown of the number of Post Shops that have closed and opened since 2020.
